In the mid-80's Andy Irvine, Jackie Daly and myself decided to form a group and we asked guitarist Arty McGlynn to join us. We called ourselves "Patrick Street" and recorded an album. We have gone through a few personnel changes since the mid 80's but for the last 4 or 5 years we have remained consistent as a 4 piece with 3 of the original members - Andy, Jackie and myself - and the addition of Ged Foley.
When we formed the group in the very beginning we all agreed that we would not work together as Patrick Street for more than 3 or 4 months a year. This gave us all time to pursue other interests so I became involved in a group called "Open House".
